I ran into an interesting problem tonight, I got a notification e-mail about a post in the forums for the Repository Module.  I clicked on the link within the e-mail (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/DotNetNukeProjects/ModuleActiveDirectory/tabid/840/forumid/54/threadid/6783/scope/posts/Default.aspx) to read the forums.

What I saw was quite interesting, the forums themselves were about the Repository module, but the rest of the page (top of page, left column, etc...) was all about the Authentication module.

I copied the URL, then closed out IE, restarted and went to that URL, and did the same thing again, so it will probably do it for others also.

I am trying to figure out how to reproduce it.  The way the grouping goes, you should be able to view any forum on any tab that has a forum instance installed.  (Of course only if they are using the same configuration)

There is no security concern here as all permissions are still checked.  The only way I know how to reproduce this is to manually alter the forumid in the url.

Can't reproduce it?  All I have to do is click on the link I posted, and it shows up...

Reproduce the generation of the link which goes into the email.  What I am saying is I can do it if I manually change the url but i am not sure how this would happen w/out someone manually altering the querystring.

I guess I should try and reach out to the poster who actually caused the error.  Which poster was the one who triggered the email?

It was a system generated message notifying me of new posts.
