Bobby Pack has also agreed to help in this area so we should see him helping Alex in this endevour.  Between the 2 of them we should be able to get Gemini cleaned up in a reasonable amount of time and then keep it clean.  My hat is off to Alex for all he has done and also to Bobby for taking on this task as well.

Impressive..   I see the results in Gemini...    many people should be thanking all of you.    I bet within 6 months it is completely cleaned up..   great job!

I would like to add my thanks to Alex (and Bobby) for stepping up to the plate.  We had allowed the Gemini log to get a bit out of hand, mainly due to lack of resources to do the thankless task of validating and categorizing an issue (bug or enhancement).

A poster earlier in this thread commented on prioritizisation, and the point was valid.  Our goal for the next few weeks and months is to deal with the issues as fast as we can (in my case I review the bugs that Alex moves to the private log and try and fix those that have a simple solution, rather than those that have the highest priority - quantity trumps quality in this case).

Once we get the log(s) down to a more manaageable level the QA team (Shawn, Alex and Bobby) can spend more time not just on validating that the bug is real, but also triaging it and determining the Risk and Priority of a bug - this will better enable us to prioritize the work of fixing the harder bugs, as resources are limited.  It will also allow us to roadmap enhancements.

I also must commend Bobby and Alex for stepping up to the plate and helping out. I am sure they both see things from a little different perspective now. Over the last 4 years there has been quite a bit of criticism of the project because we were not closing issues fast enough, or projects had become stagnant.

Part of the issue belongs squarely on our shoulders. As managers and leaders on the various DNN projects we are ultimately responsible for the work getting completed. But the community can make a difference as well. As Alex and Bobby have shown, a couple of extra hands can make a huge difference. That does rely on the core team/project team to effectively utilize those resources once they volunteer, but even then it takes both parties to make this effort work. For those that don't have time to volunteer, you can still contribute through the Benefactor Program and DotNetNuke Marketplace. These programs provide financial support to DotNetNuke so that we can afford to staff work that might otherwise go uncompleted.
