I agree you can just put together a site and let it evolve but at some point this is going to become a big issue for DNN unless it is addressed. Although at the time of writing, no-one has been sued under UK law. This does not mean that a case will not be forthcoming. A visually impaired Australian man successfully sued the organisers of the Sydney Olympics because their web site was not accessible to him - and since Australian law is not dissimilar to our own, it is surely only a matter of time. This happens in the UK there are going to be a lot of site refreshes needed, whether they are using DNN or not. I have produce a lot of site in ASP.net and other technologies but we switch about 18 months ago to CSS only implementation. I think DNN is great and could really speed up creating web sites. However I'm concerned that unless the modules are change to use CSS only for layout then it could become a dead end.

When we first switched to CSS only implemenation it was really hard but I would not go back now. It is so much easier to refresh a site that has been done in pure CSS. I think DNN will have to move to CSS only and solve all the problems this entails.

Interestingly if you look at Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePonit Serve it is possible to produce pure CSS only sites with these. So it can be done. The question is whether the DNN comunity is up for the challenge

Hi All,

I am very interested to know if there is any update on the above spoken issues at all?

The reason I am interested is to help me gauge, whether I am going to be totally gutted after possibly just finding a whole solution to my companies problems of not being able to at the moment fund a £30k website build if done via a professional company but embracing and utilising DNN, although I do more than most web designers have a big need to make our site conform to the latest W3C Web Accessibility Standards.

If you would like to see why I am interested in this thread, go to my main DotNetNuke profile or alternatively go to: www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/118/threadid/92682/scope/posts/Default.aspx  and my post is number 12 I believe once it has been accepted by the mods.

Look forward to hearing from you about the above.
