Go to line 59 on the web.config file. It should read like this....

<

<!--

After saving the file try again and it should fix your problem.

add name="Compression" type="DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Compression.HttpModule, DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Compression" />You need to place tags around the line to comment it out, see below....
<add name="Compression" type="DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Compression.HttpModule, DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Compression" />-->

To turn off compression in web.config:

Open the web.config file with notepad, locate the <httpModules> section.  Inside that will be a line for the compression module.  Comment it out with <!-- at the start and --> at the end.

Hi Anthony,

It seems that line is not in the web.config file at all. Is this something I should be concerned about? The GoLive date for the Intranet site is Friday and this is an essential module for the staff, is there anything else I can try?

When turning off Compression, you slow down your site. It might be better to turn off compression for parts of the site, see this thread for information; http://forums.asp.net/thread/1277599.aspx
