OK, so has anyone with GoDaddy UPGRADED to 4.4.0? If so, what are your experiences?

If God does not live in Colorado, I bet he visits there a lot!!

I'm really interested in knowing if it works since GoDaddy has a reputation for having really bad DNN hosting.

i use Deluxe Plan and manual install option at a virtual directory
last week i upgraded from 4.3.7 to 4.4.0 and now i dont have any specific errors related to Godaddy.
But they are some issues (bugs) and i confirm that they are already posted to Gemini. :)

Here is my error...

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 04.04.00

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

Server Error in '/' Application.

Access to the path 'd:\hosting\republic\Compression.config' is denied.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'd:\hosting\republic\Compression.config' is denied.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.

To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

-- You need to follow the instructions shown above - it's not letting you access some areas since you haven't let it.

You need to set that security box to read/right/modify - and then give it another try.

If you have an error that mentions different dates then delete the whole folder and start again - since when DNN starts things and gets to a certain point, it has a date stamp on there and sometimes won't continue. (didn't that take me a while to sort out)
