Hi

We're using DNN 3.2.2 as an intranet site and we are finding that users don't realise that clicking on a top-level item in the main navigation (solpart) menu actually leads to a page, so they think that child menu items are the actual pages.

I was thinking that it would be a good idea to maybe have a small message appear on screen next to menu (javascript?) to tell users that they can click on these pages.

Has anyone else done this or know of a good approach?

Putting a permanent small arrow graphic before the main tab is one way of doing it. It tells people this is link.

Not as what you are suggesting but it might help.

thanks for the suggestion, but as some users may be less web savvy, I don't think it will reach everyone. I'd like to do the appearing message approach, but not sure how. i notice in dnn 3.2.2 that the solpart menu is basically a table with span id's for each nav element, I wonder if I can use javascript with this?

I have not done this. However, I am sure this is possible, We have been able to change the background colour for every tab in the past with Java Script. I like to see what you come up with.
