You need to do a css override by adding a class like

#SearchContainer input{MARGIN:0px; padding:0px;BORDER:1px solid #7F9DB9;}

and put a div with the above id around your search box in your html skin or your css skin

Or better yet, in the Skin.xml file (filename may be different depending on the skin you are using) add an class to the Search token and then you can just use the appropriate css in your Skin.css.  You can read about how to create skins in the DotNetNuke Skinning guide that is included with the DotNetNuke Documents download available from the Downloads page.

Joe

I never used that option as changing the class will make all "inputs" through out the site including the register etc... that colour border. I assume the skinner wants to only make the search box that colour.

Salaro is correct, and the skinning documentation doesnt' quite cover the finer details of the advanced techniques of skinning which are to a certain extent.. (and Salaro knows exactly what I mean I'm sure)  ... time, trial and error and experimentation.

However, the skinning documentation is a great start - that is where I learnt the basics and still have the dog eared copy that all my staff use because the skinning engine was very well written and initial documentation give you a great start to get going.

I have seen some skins that have attemped to use the xml function and if you're running a site with a darker skin on it - can make it nearly impossible to navigate and see the links to update pages.
