Path too long exception is caused by ASP.Net. Make sure that the physical location of your Virtual Directory is not nested deeply in the folder structure of your HDD.

Thanks for the info, but in my case the website directory is simply D:\customerspace.  I still get that error... and I have friendly URLs enabled (same result when disabled...).

so...what do you do about it?
is there a way to fix the problem?

it might be an issue with file based caching. try to alter to memory caching in your web.config and check, if it dissapears.

What was the "Suggested delete statement"? I am seeing the same error on the log viewer after an upgrade to 4.4.1.
