Hi

Trying to get my dotnetnuke site runnin and is having problems with the istallation.
I have MySQL 5.1. running om my XP.
In the installation video it says that you need MS SQL/MSDN, the problem is that those two cost money and i want it all for free.

My question is therefor if i can use MySQL instead?

I keep getting the following error messege:

ERROR INSTALLING DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 04.04.01

ERROR:Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider.

Thanks!!

No, you can't use MySQL. You can use SQLExpress, a free MS database. There's info on this throughout the blogs and forums.

Yes you can use mysql, but only the core modules will (at the most) will be supported and it's a payed data provider you can buy at, I think, Snowcoverd (so not for free)
