My last ditch effort - changing the web.config connection string to have our super admin, all rights user as the username.  I am still getting the same error.

My only ideas are:

  • SQL 2000 is on the non-default port
  • We have firewall issues
  • Not being able to run executables on the virtual directory is causing a problem

Any other ideas, or potential solutions would make my day!

Josi.

The non-default port is likely the problem. Here's a working connection string with an alternate port specification (note the port number 25000):

value

= "Server=myservername,25000;Database=mydatabase;uid=myusername;pwd=mypassword;"

Bill, you are wonderful!  That was the issue!  I had tried to add port=### into the connection string a few days ago but since I didn't know the proper syntax, it just gave me an error.  Thank you so much!
