I'm starting to learn how all the different modules that come with DNN work, and what they can be used for.  Once I do that, I'm going to have to communicate that info to non-technical users.  Otherwise, they will come to me for all that info over and over again...

The idea I hit upon was creating a DotNetNuke Sampler Site.  I would set up (at least) one page for each module.  I would put a Text/HTML module at the top of each page that would explain the module being demonstrated on that page.  Some modules are simple enough to demonstrate their capability with just one page use, others would need a few more.  That way, users could see different ways to use the abstract modules provided with DNN.

Is there a way to export an entire portal so that it can be imported in one simple operation?  I'm guessing that the "portal templates" we choose from when we install DNN could be used for this purpose.  Is there a "just push this button" way to create one?

There are also some very nice 3rd party, free modules I would like to include in the sampler.  Will that muck up the works?

It looks like the Host->Site Settings page allows you to export the site into a template, and Creating a new template lets you reference your template file.
