you can download it from the project's download page and install it like any other 3rd party module

No, you can't...
I have the same problem -- all modules installed fine (4.4.1 fresh install) but there is no trace of the text/html module. Here on the site it is nowhere to be found as a separate project. Any ideas?
Thanks.

the text/html module has ben retired as seperate project, instead it is "promoted" back as full core module (that means that development of the module will be done by the core team, and not by a separate project team).

The module is needed to run DNN, so it should be part of any DNN install. In fact, it is one of 2 only modules actually installed in a fresh dnn 4.4.1 install (the other one is the links module). I find it hard to believe you say "all modules installed fine", and no html module available....

I found it hard to believe myself (that's why I posted  -- anyway, I fixed the problem by "manually" uploading the /Install/Module/HTML_03.03.00_Install.zip from the DotNetNuke_4.4.1_Install.zip -- and voila, the Text/HTML-Module appears in the Module Definitions...
Thanks.
