Hi,

after getting a good running instalation i went to make my own guestbook. I got the sample from this side and tried it on a local system. After modifying it to my needs it looks good. The i make a zip with the files in App_data/guestbook and Desktopmoduls/guestbook. Then i installed it as host. After this, i got an error cause the install renamed the folders to YourCompany.guestbook, but the modul was shown(with the error mentioned above). I renamed the folders to guestbook. After refreshing the site it throw's a runtime error. In the log now only the last is shown "Application shutting down". It don't restart! Why? How can i get it run (also without my guestbook!)? What can I do else.

Thanks for your help

Frank

Strange.

What will happen if you rename the folder back from Guestbook to YourCompany.guestbook?

One tip: Don't try your modules on the start page.
Other idea: Can you open http://[path to your server]/Default.aspx?tabid=18?

I didn't put it on the start page, only on a page, not shown to other than the administrators.

The link you postet also throw the error (runtime). The application still don't start. Could it be happen to hosttracking?

*EDIT* Renaming lets the apllication start. I will uninstall the modul, but what was happend? Why "YourCompany.Guestbook? Why did it runs on local mashine? I didn't changed anything to the data-table.

I only replaced the Example MessageBox with the dnn:texteditor. Have i to compile it?

Why didn't you pack your module with "Create module package"?

Yep, i found it 5 min ago. I only followed the tutorial, thinking it's a good way. After changing the entrys of Controls in Definition, the modul throw an other error.

The type specified in the TypeName property of ObjectDataSource 'ObjectDataSource_Tasks' could not be found.

Where can i control what's happend to this?

I will do  a new start tommorow.
