I Installed  a clean version of 4.4.1 on the server and can get to the default page, but when I click login  it directs me to http://localhost/dotnetnuke/Home/tabid/36/ctl/Register/Default.aspx  , which is not available. I did try thedefault.aspx?ctl=login and  no luck, I did try then with default.aspx?ctl=login&uid=host&psswd=dnnhost and  it let me in to the admin page, when I  click any links I get the 404 error , page not found,  example if  I click on admin page settings   it is redirecting to /Admin/SiteSettings/tabid/39/Default.aspx, which is not there. Also I did check the Hostsettings table  and change the userfriendly setting to N from Y  and no luck. Any help is highly appreciated.

Do you have default.aspx set as a default page for your site?

I have the same issue.  I have done a fresh installation of 4.4.1 and can get the home page, but cannot login.  Don't know too much becuase this is my first installation so it is hard to troubleshoot.

I do have default.aspx set as a default page.

other info: windows 2003 (iis6) and sql server 2005.

Thanks in advance,

Samud

Someone else seems to have solved this problem by reinstalling .net and iis.

I would prefer not to do this.

Is this a quiet thread or what?  I was thinking that this would be fairly straight-forward.  Install DNN 4.4.1 on the most typical platform ever: ii6, sql2005.

In any case, I have gotten exactly nowhere.  re-installing iis and asp.net is simply not an option (see previous post), so I don't know what to say.

I desperately wanted to use DNN for an internal development website, but if I don't get it running in the next couple of days, I'm going to give up and install sharepoint.

Nobody has any ideas?
