I am in the process of attempting a clean install of DNN 3.22 - I am installing it on a windows based webhost that has plesk 7.5 as the control panel, with phpadmin and mysql 4.1 installed.

they do not have any microsoft sql server support though.

I was lead to believe that it was possible to install on a mysql system and that it wouldnt be too hard, well after beating my head against the wall a few times I thought I would ask the people here is they have any suggestions - that dont involve moving to another host since I paid for a year of service 2 weeks ago....

DNN is best suited for my needs and would enjoy seeing it running for my sites

I appreciate any help and advice on this matter

The only way to install DNN w/ mySQL is to have the mySQL dataprovider.  I do not know of anyone offering this provider at this time.  This was available for DNN 2.1.2, and I have seen one for Oracle and DNN 3.x, but nothing since then.  I would contact your host about the MS SQL support as its the only one at this time that can really support DotNetNuke and all its modules without requiring lots of development on your end.
