Trying to update a DNN 3 installation to a DNN 4.4.1 install. Followed the instructions but get this error when trying to install the app.

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Data.DataProvider' threw an exception.

I know it sounds straight forward but I have checked and double checked my web.config file and the parameters seem to be exactly the same as the DNN3 database parameters. Am I right in thinking that it is the connection string to the database? The DNN3 version is still running smoothly so I am assuming that the connection string is correct (identical to the one being used in the DNN4 install). Any ideas?????
