You guys can get started with 4.4.1, which is a good platform to get started, and then apply 4.5 as an update.  That should go smoothly.  This applies to a development environment too.

If you are new to DNN, don't wait for 4.5, get your feet wet with 4.4.1 (the install version), you won't regret it.

Thanks Carlos,

I tried to install 4.4.1, but I could not get the web.config right. DNN 4.5 has an install wizard, which is the primary reason why I wanted and needed it.

I saw that in some of your previous posts you mentioned problems with Plesk, is that still the case?  Is that the install you need to complete?  To be honest, I don't know how the new install wizard will work in a Plesk environment.

I finally was able to get plesk working. I then used the auto install feature from the hosting company. However, they only had 3.2 installed and not 4.4.1 or even 4.3.7. I asked them if they were going to update their applications vault and they, in so many words, said no.

Sorry to hear that.  You may want to recommend to them (very politely) that they at least look at 4.5.  The selling points are that it has a smaller memory footprint and it has been optimized to be faster and consume less resources on the server.
