Installation troubleshooting problem.  Should be simple.

New installation of dnn on Windows Server 2003/.Net 2.0.  Installing the starter package.  Setup the website/virtual directory as an application.  Edited the web.config file following the installation guide.  Database setup in SQL Server 2005.  When trying to start the installation, the error comes up:

Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level.  This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

So, since we have the virtual directory setup, this error makes no sense.  Can anyone help out?  We have three people here knocking their heads off walls...

As always, any information offered will be appreciated immensely.

make sure, DotNetNuke is installed in its own web site or virtual directory, configured as application in IIS settings.

I just kept bashing at it.  After awhile, I started to see the sense of the installation, and somehow, I managed to find the right checkboxes to set the permissions, etc.... typical nightmare installing onto M$ platforms.  It's working now.

That said, now that dnn is installed, I like it a lot.  Our organization has a major commitment to dnn already.  I am new here, so I am still taking everything in.
