Hello, I believe I just completed a successful install using the DNN install utility. I did have a few concerns. The installer did not detect my install of IIs 6.0, which, I know, is installed. It did not pick up my ASP.NEt 2.0. However, I just continued. When the install finishes, how do you connect to it? It did not ask for a domain to connect to so, I'm wondering what sort of web directory  to use? Hmmm or is this an install that should be done inside a web directory? hmmm

Did you use the web installer or the windows based installer.  Can you provide the exact steps you took to install the application.

I believe it was the windows based installer. The one that is for newbies.

This is what I did.

1. Downloaded the installer utility
2. Unzipped the folder
3. Double clicked on the exe.file
4. The installer informed me that I did not have asp or IIs installed.
5. I clicked to install them
6. It said "one or more requirements for dotnetnuke were not found" would you like the installer to download them from the internet and install them for you?"
7. It seems to install the sql client tools and asp.net 2.0, which I believe was already installed. The installer also informs me that IIs is not installed. This, I know is installed.
8. I select "continue"
9. It displays a directory "C:\InetPub\DotNetNuke". I change it to "C:\InetPub\DotNetNuke1".
10. It then asks me to select components. I select full install
11. Now I'm to website options and IIs is "greyed out". FTP and Skip are the only two options left. I choose to skip, at this point. .
12. I then run the SQL server DB detection and it comes up with a list. I select SQL server 2005express
13. I name the database DotNetNuke1
14. I select "use windows authentication"
15.I ignore the objectqualifier and hit next.
16. In the" ready to install page", this information is listed in the box.
Destination location:
      C:\InetPub\DotNetNuke1
Setup type:
      Full Installation
Selected components:
      Core Files
      Core Development Files
      Core Modules
         Announcement Module
         Blog Module
         Documents Module
         FAQs Module
         Forum Module
I click install.

17. The setup completes and prompts me to click on "finish".
18. Done

Now I realize I need to complete the website setup in IIs. But, I'm not sure how and I'm wondering why it did not see my install of IIs. Could it have something to do with my PLesk?
