I installed DNN (latest version) on my Windows XP Pro laptop with .Net 2.0, SQL Server 2005 Express, used the installer project, everything seemed to go fine, until I opened http://localhost/DotNetNuke, and got the following page back. I'm not much of a web-programmer, so I'm not sure what happened - I'm guessing that the scripts aren't firing to configure everything??

<%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" Explicit="True" Inherits="DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage" CodeFile="Default.aspx.vb" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" Namespace="DotNetNuke.Common.Controls" Assembly="DotNetNuke" %>
<asp:literal id="skinDocType" runat="server"></asp:literal>
<html>
<head id="Head" runat="server">
    <meta id="MetaRefresh" runat="Server" name="Refresh" />
    <meta id="MetaDescription" runat="Server" name="DESCRIPTION" />
    <meta id="MetaKeywords" runat="Server" name="KEYWORDS" />
    <meta id="MetaCopyright" runat="Server" name="COPYRIGHT" />
    <meta id="MetaGenerator" runat="Server" name="GENERATOR" />
    <meta id="MetaAuthor" runat="Server" name="AUTHOR" />
    <meta name="RESOURCE-TYPE" content="DOCUMENT">
    <meta name="DISTRIBUTION" content="GLOBAL">
    <meta name="ROBOTS" content="INDEX, FOLLOW">
    <meta name="REVISIT-AFTER" content="1 DAYS">
    <meta name="RATING" content="GENERAL">
    <meta http-equiv="PAGE-ENTER" content="RevealTrans(Duration=0,Transition=1)">
    <style id="StylePlaceholder" runat="server"></style>
    <asp:placeholder id="CSS" runat="server"></asp:placeholder>
</head>
<body id="Body" runat="server" bottommargin="0" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" rightmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0">
    <noscript></noscript>
    <dnn:Form id="Form" runat="server" ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" style="”height: 100%;">
        <asp:Label ID="SkinError" runat="server" CssClass="NormalRed" Visible="False"></asp:Label>
        <asp:PlaceHolder ID="SkinPlaceHolder" runat="server" />
        <input id="ScrollTop" runat="server" name="ScrollTop" type="hidden">
        <input id="__dnnVariable" runat="server" name="__dnnVariable" type="hidden">
    </dnn:Form>
</body>
</html>
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

make sure, Asp.Net 2.0 is installed and configured on your PC and the IIS settings for the virtual directory point to the installation directory and include default.aspx as default document.

I apologize - I should have mentioned in my email that I had followed all of the instructions to the T - .Net 2.0 is installed and working correctly, IIS is pointed to the installation directory, and default.aspx is the only default document type (I had added it previously as an additional default document type, but when I used the installer, it removed all but default.aspx.

From the return I received, it looks like the browser is opening default.aspx (I haven't yet opened the file to see if that is the contents, but it looks like it should be), but not executing any scripts?? I'm going to uninstall the whole thing (I am moving that particular laptop over to Windows Vista in the next week), and will try again on a different machine, but if someone has seen this before and fixed it, I would love to know what the problem is.

you may need to run aspnet_regiis, to map the extensions to the asp.net version (this can happen if you install the .net framework before you install IIS). see http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/k6h9cz8h(VS.80).aspx for more details.

Thank you for the suggestion - I'll try it tonight when I am back at that computer. Hopefully that will resolve the issues. I think .Net was already on the machine before I intalled IIS because I remember now that when I went to install .Net, I received the "Repair - Remove" options instead of install options, and I probably cancelled out of the installation thinking it was already there. Thanks and I'll post results so someone else can hopefully be helped.
