This was a very funny thread.  Sadly, the reason that I ended up here is that I am hitting the same problem.  I sent the error page in to 1and1 support email, but I am not hopeful of a resolution.  jbrown, your last post was a month ago.  Any update?  Did you go Kurt Cobain or something?

1and1, that is what were talking about, ummm... Ok forget that last 60 lines or so...

No 1and1 does not allow me to change something for some reason, I don't quite remember, it might be the strong barbituates that I have been taking so I am currently suffering from CRS. 1and1 could not allow dot net nuke to work properly. Let me see if I can dig up some of my old E-Mail's back and forth to them and I will let you know exactally what it was. I actually cancled 1and1 and started my own Hosting company, although I am not running ASP or .Net, currently I am am hosting Linux.

Unless you want me to continue my sad saga of Men in dresses... never mind...
