Hi

I was running a 4.4.1 version. I went on to install the 4.5 using the install package. Post installation i modified the web.config to update the 2 connection strings and the keys. I am then able to browse to my upgraded portal.

Now when i try to login to the portal, i enter my user name and password and press login. I get the following error on the subsequent page:

  A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I am not logged into the site as well.

Could someone please suggest on what could have gone wrong?

Cheers

Abhishek

If you used the Install Package like your message reads, this could be your issue.  Restore to version 4.4 and use the Upgrade Package instead.

Best of luck.
