Alverdal,

The problem for me did not have to due with the tempdb but that the case of the vairables and column names in the storeprocedures did not always have the correct case for a case sensitive database. What I did to solve the problem was to install an extra SQL server instance on the server, and set that instance to the collation SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS.

Hello Contantijn,

Yes that could be a solution to our problem as well.

However, don't you have to pay for that second instance of SQL server? In our case we're using SQL server 2005 Enterprise edition and I belive that the cost for setting up a second instance is quite large.

Alverdal,

A second instance on the same server (sql 2003 enterprise) doesn't not have any licensing costs, for as far as I am aware.

Hi,

I had the same problem trying to install DNN 4.5.1, and could not solve it! But when I tried to install DNN 4.4.1 it worked perfectly.

I was kinda busy last week, but I've been plugging away at this issue for several weeks now and had time this weekend to setup a case insensitive server.  Unfortunately I have bad news....the install worked.  That means that setting a case-insensitive collation to the entire server is the answer to all these problems everyone has been having.  That means you're going to have to ask permission to setup another instance of SQL Server....not cool.  Luckily my boss said it's OK.
