Does anyone know...

...Where can I get hold of the "Installation Wizard"? I've downloaded DNN 4.5.1 but can't find it.

...Where can I get the vsi file for the Starter kit? The download file is a zip file.

Many thanks,

Richard

the installation wizard kicks in when you browse to your site (follow the readme.txt instructions to set up). If you're looking for a windows form app that setups up the site, you could use the installer utility @ http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/125/default.aspx , though it's still only using 4.4.1

Rename the zip file as a vsi - for some unknown reason certain times sourceforge serves the file as a zip rather than a vsi. I do not know if this is server/os/browser specific.

When I try to browse to the site I get HTTP Internal Server Error: "The website cannot display the page".

So far I have managed to follow the steps in Readme.txt until "the {Server}/NetworkService user account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the root website directory and subdirectories". Can you please tell me how this is achieved? - Sorry, as you'll have guessed, I know very little about creating web sites (which is why what you DotNetNukers provide is much appreciated).

Thanks again,

Richard

What browser are you using? If you are using IE, please diable friendly error messages. The setting is located under Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Show friendly HTTP error messages.

Also, you want to double check the permissions to make sure that not only the Network Service, but IUSR has permissions as well. Are you hosting with someone or are you hosting this yourself?

Hi Alec,

I'm using IE7 on an XP SP2 machine and hosting the site on my own machine, and I've now turned friendly HTTP error messages off. I have found the IUSR login account but not the "Network Service" account. Also, are you talking about giving them access to the SQL 2000 database (I know how to do that) or access to the web site (I don't know how to do that)?

Thanks for your patience...

Richard
