I'm a seasoned veteran of dotnetnuke and a vs.net developer professionally by trade and have used dotnetnuke on godaddy many times in the last 2 years with several different websites, worked fine since 3.x, have installed countless sites on godaddy, even most 4.x installations.

now comes version 4.5

I did a fresh install, working as always, even gave full write permissions to portal directory and every sub directory, been working half the day and I repeatedly get the following error while installing:

Installing Database - Version 4.4.0...Upgrading Database to Version ERROR: See d:\hosting\username\portal\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\04.04.00.log for more information...FAILURE 400 - Conversion from string "ERROR: See d:hosting%0ssername1p" to type 'Integer' is not valid.

where username is the name of my host account folder.

I have tried installing with the wizard on numerous occasions today with no luck, the install never passes the point of running the sql install scripts passed 4.4.0... once it gets to that script, the wizard halts and a repeated progress bar is running during the wizard that never stops.

Also, the error is advising me to view the error log located in the sqldataprovider folder, but no error log is ever created.  all folders have full permission and the host is godaddy.  This is a fresh install on an account that was running an earlier version of dnn.  I reinstalled it because after i upgraded to the new 4.5, the upgrade errored out and the text control module was missing out of my site.

Steps to install:

Delete sql2k5 database,
Create new sql2k5 database
Delete all directories
create folders from godaddy control panel and set directory permissions (i've followed about 5 different guides on the internet for godaddy installations, even tried full permissions!)
ftp downloaded install files from dotnetnuke.com to my website and subfolder
run install ---- install Hangs.

any help would be appreciated.

I don't see "set .Net app to 2.0" on that list. Or is GoDaddy 2.0 by default?

I have the exact same problem as yours. Desperately need help!

On my local machine, there is no problem at all to install the DNN 040501, but on GoDaddy, it gives me the following error:

Installing Database - Version 4.4.0...Upgrading Database to Version ERROR: See d:\hosting\drugphasenet\MathWorks\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\04.04.00.log for more information...FAILURE 400 - Conversion from string "ERROR: See d:hostingdrugphasenet" to type 'Integer' is not valid.
