Hello Members,

we having the following scenario :

we have an old dotnetnuke instance on 1st server and we would like to move it to 2nd server.

moving from one web hosting to another web hosting.

we want to use the old dotnetnuke database. so we already deploy the database in the new server.

now we would like to move all files but we want to ask if it is possibile to make a new installtion of dotnetnuke but to use our old databases with the data which is already inside the database.

This means that we want to make a scratch installation but still using the old database without losing any data which exist inside it.

is it possible ? what actions we need to take ? what type of installation we need to run ? (upgrade or clean) ?

we still want to use the same version of dotnetnuke 3.2 , we don't want to upgrade to newer one.

yes, you can, simply make sure, that you include all modules previously installed and make sure to use same encryption keys, databaseOwner and ObjectQualifier in web.config

Hello,

I did every thing according to the documentation. I read the installation documentation of DotNetNuke 3.2 and understood everything.

but when I come and trying surfing to the site through web browser then I get the following error :

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 03.02.02

Invalid object name 'Version'. Invalid object name 'Version'.

yes , I add what is needed to PortalAlias table.

yes , The DB connection is correct.

Hello,

I still encounter an issue.

Now I have tried a new method , I have upload the files exactly as  were in the old server.

I have changed the SQL connection.

also I had alias to the table.

I get the following error:
