I am trying to install DNN 3.2.2 on a Win 2003 server (IIS 6.0) and have it connect to another server (also Win 2003 but no IIS on this box) where SQL Server 2000 is installed.

I get the message:

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 03.02.01

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

Clearly, I am not setting up the connection string properties correctly for the install process. I have tried lots of things but nothing works so far. I am new to SQL Server 2000 and don't know how to correctly incorporate this setup in the connection string information in web.config when DNN will run on one server but use SQL Server 2000 on another.

thanks for any help...

Here is a sample connection string, just replace the key points with your actual values:
   
<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=SERVER.DOMAIN.COM;Database=DATABASENAME;uid=USERID;pwd=PASSWORD;" />

Also make sure the db server is visible from the web server, I mean, you don't have any firewall or similar blocking request from one to another.
