IIS

I can't get my site to be viewed externally. It will only display as localhost on the webserver. I can't even get it on another machine on my network, let alone outside of it. No domain name yet, I'm just trying to get to it by IP address. I've configured IIS every which way I can think of and nothing works. Any ideas would be helpful.

I'm having the same problem.  Been working on it for hours but still don't have it resolved. If you figure it out, please post back here - I'll do the same...

Thanks,

-Scott

What exactly is the error you are receiveing (a screen shot would be helpful)?  Depending on the specific error it could be an IIS configuration problem, or it could be that you don't have a PortalAlias configured for the URL domain.

jbrinkman is right. It was a PortAlias issue. I just had to add the IP address to the PortAlias settings. Info was found here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/columns/insider/iisi0106.mspx

I just realized the same thing.  I added the portal alias of <public IP>/DotNetNuke/ and it worked just fine.  Does DotNetNuke use some kind of Host Header implimentation, and that's why this is needed?

I'm obviously not familiar with the software yet, but I'm getting there.  Thanks for the quick update.
