and this is the error I am getting.

now because I installed this as a test, it was installed to mysite.com/test/dnn/website

as I don' want to take down the site untill I get it working properly. So....

I assume I have to add this path, but how do I do it? any ideas?

Same problem, no solution!

If someone just made a script where you just fill in your user details and press "MAGIC FIX" and it would correct the database!

My POST is gone.. I hit submit and the dotnetnuke.com site did what MY site has been doing...

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

I was getting this error and everything I read said to reinstall to a clean database.  I did that and it worked.  you'll get better information if you set CustomErrors=Off in your web.config.  I'm having other problems myself - but thought I might at least be able to help you get past that one!
