Hello:

I took a quick look at the sub-folders of the new "Tools" directory with this latest release and noticed that there are hard-coded userids and passwords for vault and version control in the batch and build files.  I wasn't sure if this was open to the public, so thought I would mention this in the event this was a mistake.

Thanks!

John

John,

My guess is that there should not be ANY Vault passwords or usernames included in any of the zips.

If you could email security@dotnetnuke.com and tell them EXACTLY where you found this information.  (Which installation version, and the exact folder path), they will look into it ASAP.

Hi Mitchel - I emailed the zipped "Tools" folder wich requires a pwd to open it.  When you unzip this file you will be prompted for this password, which is "dnn".

Refer to the file, \DotNetNuke_04.05.02_Source\Tools\MSBuild\DotNetNuke.build for information I am referring to, specifically the <VaultCommonOptions> node.  As you can see from the path the "Tools" directory was in the DotNetNuke_04.05.02_Source.zip file posted in the downloads section and received from SourceForge. I downloaded this file yesterday.

Let me know if you have any questions by responding to my email (@vqme.com).

We have fixed this.  It was an oversight in the build process in that internal tools were placed in a common DotNetNuke code directory.  The passwords have been changed.
