Hi,

Can anyone tell me that how i can use MSDE2000 with DNN 3.3.5 version? I had tried with these connection strings:

<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);uid=ahr;pwd=ahr;data source=MOLYBDENUM\londonahr;Database=Test;" />

<add Key="SitesqlServer" value="workstation id=MOLYBDENUM;packet size=4096;uid=ahr;data source="MOLYBDENUM\londonahr";persist security info=True;Database=C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$londonahr\Data\Test.mdf;pwd=ahr">

<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);uid=ahr;pwd=ahr;Data Source=.\SQLExpress;
Integrated Security=True;Database=C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$londonahr\Data\Test.mdf;" />

but everytime getting the same error:

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

Thanks in Advance!!!

you can find the proper connectionstrings here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/mid/2108/threadid/148835/scope/posts/Default.aspx#148837

Please note that msde2000 does not come with an easy configuration interface, so any of the following might be the case:

  • sql server authentication not activated
  • proper communication protocols not activated

you must use the proper settings during installation of msde2000

If I were you, i would upgrade to sql server express 2005, it comes with a great management studio, and you can configure all settings. sqlexpress 2005 is completely compatible with dnn
