I have installed DotNetNuke once on my website.  The website host recommended that I install the application in a subfolder.  I didn't like seeing the subfolder in the URL an so based on another's suggestion, I completely uninstalled DotNetNuke by deleting the subfolder, and deleting all tables, view, stored procedures, etc. from the database.  I then copied the DotNetNuke website to the root directory.  When I then called the website to allow DotNetNuke to configure, it failed to install during the Database Install Scripts.  After a number of attempts by deleting everything and uploading the application to the root, I gave up.

Then I gave up and attempted to place the application in a better named subfolder.  I found it would not install there either.  I get the error:  "ERROR: See E:\web\stpeterstro\htdocs\Website\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\04.04.00.log for more information...FAILURE 400 - Conversion from string "ERROR: See E:webstpeterstrohtdoc" to type 'Integer' is not valid."

I can't get to the file to learn what happened.  Long story short I can't get the application installed to run.  Anyone have any ideas?

Rob

DotNetNuke always needs to be installed in root of the virtual directory / web site folder.

Did you check out the installation guide availabe from the Resources >> Documentation Guide menu item here on dnn.com?

If issues persist, please post the complete error message.

First - all you had to do was copy your installation to the root folder instead of deleting it and starting over. Next - the problem you're having is probably because you are not starting with a fresh database. You mention you just deleted everything in the database to start over. I have tried that in the past and it didn't work for me. Whenever I try a new installation, I completely delete the database and then make a new one.

Good luck,

Mike
