I'm getting the error message on trying to install for the first time (after 2 days of trying):

Could not find file 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DotNetNuke\Website\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\DotNetNuke_template.mdf'.

This file does not exist in the Source/Install packages. Is there another one we can use? Is this normal?

Any help is appreciated!

I just downloaded the 4.0.2 and tried to install, and got the same error.  Running iis6 SQL2000, standard install. Running the install.zip.  Any help would be helpful!

I've been having the same problem with 4.0.2.  IIS 6, SQL 2005 Express

You need to create a Database and configure web.config with the correct connection string as described in the Installation Guide before running the site.

The one in the installation guide appears to be for DNN3. I've never seen a SSE 2005/ASP.NET2 connection string in my life.

This:

connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"

...doesn't make any sense to me. Care to provide an example?
