Hi all,

My DNN installation was interrupted by the need to change the database password. I had already gone through the initial setup screens, and when I changed the password in the web.config file and it invoked the setup screens again. I interrupted the setup and now all I get is a login failed error.

I have double checked that the password in the web.config file is correct.

How can I just get the new password accepted by DNN and restore the site?

Thanks,

Chris

After a little more looking, I realized that I only updated the password for the backwards compatible connection string. I changed the password for the other string and everything works ok.

If it is going into the setup, it is having difficulties connecting to the database.

I would make sure of a few things.

1.) Ensure that you have the database name specified in the connection string
2.) Ensure that you changed BOTH connection strings
3.) Set the AutoUpgrade and UseWizard appSettings to false (To prevent the automatic starting of the install process)
