I recently upgraded from DNN 4.5.1 to 4.5.5. However I now note that when I navigate to Host > Module Definitions that the 'Available Modules' section of the page is not populated with any Core Modules that are available to download. Not even a single one. I restarted the app to see if that might populate this section of the page but it made no difference. I also don't ever remember seeing this section populated with Core Modules to download (even before my upgrade from 4.5.1 to 4.5.5) . But I do remember uninstalling many core modules that my portal was not using (as apparently this can help performance of the DNN app).

Is it because of such module un-installs that the 'Available Modules' section is now empty? Or is there something else wrong? Is this a bug?

Background info: I started out with v4.0 and have done regular upgrades (i.e. 4.3 to 4.4. to 4.5.1 to 4.5.5).

if you are using the upgrade package, it does not contain any modules. use the install package instead (but make sure, to backup your web.config file before unzipping it).

Thanks Leupold for the clarification.

Would it not then make sense to hide the 'Available Modules' part of the page from those who have used the upgrade package? Is it not pointless having a part of a page that serves no purpose for such installs, other then confuse the host when s/he is logged in?
