Using: WinXP Pro, VS2005, MS SQL 2000

I installed the starter kit.  When I create a new project with the DNN template, I get this error:

"The file Blog_03.03.00_Install.resources could not be found within the project templates... "

Is this normal; did I miss something in the documentation about the blog module not being in the latest starter kit?

I got this same error (and managed to forget to get a screen shot of it.) The rest of the process was fine, and all appears to be normal, but I wonder what is going to happen when I try to test or publish. Not that I need the blog module, but still...

I got the same - the whole error was:

Project Template Wizard

The file Blog_03.03.00_Install.resources could not be found within the project templates. Continuing to run, but the resulting project may not build properly.

I too get the same error --> The file Blog_03.03.00_Install.resources could not be found within the project templates. Continuing to run, but the resulting project may not build properly.

I also appear to have an issue building the site, if I create the site with all the defaults (blog found and followed on this process) I can use "debug" to view the sie, but as soon as I try to copy it to my IIS server (which is the same host I have VS on) I get an error of

Server Error HTTP Error 500 - Internal server error. Description: There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. Server Version Information: Internet Information Services 7.0."

I am very much a new person to VS and DotNetNuke, as a matter of fact I have only started looking into this in the last few weeks, all my hosting has been linux/php based but I figured a change was a good as a holiday.

Any help is appreciated on getting a site up and working.

Cheers,

Damien K

Hi Damien,

I'm new here too, but maybe we can start by removing or commenting out the reference to this resource.  You can find it in the DotNetNuke.vstemplate file.  You may have to re-create the web site with the install package, comment out that line, then run the install script again.  Just a wild guess...
