I am installing my DNN on C:\DotNetNuke Website1 folder on my local machine using a File system based web site (v4.5.5). My installation(ctrl+F5 in VS 2005) is stuck on http://localhost:2340/DotNetNuke%20Website1/Install/InstallWizard.aspx sayin "installing database scripts....." for the last three hours, it did create a "Version" table and three Stored procedures in the DotNetNuke DB (SQL 2000). I did get the error about not finding "Blog_03.03. 00.Install.resources" with in the project templates  when I created this website using DNN template 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Had the same problem -- with both Typical and Custom.  Then I set up IIS the old-fashioned way (New Virtual Directory) and SQL Server (New Database - new User), changed web.config, gave the folder ASPNET rights and pressed Ctl-F5.  Then I chose Auto (per the instructions, duh) and voila everything is golden.
