Hello everybody,

I've changed the pc I use to deploy my DotNetNuke web site. So, I've had to move my DotNetNuke installation.

I have:

  • copied the DotNetNuke folder from my old pc to new pc, in the same directory (C:)
  • done the backup of the database in my old pc and done the restore in new pc
  • done some settings (permissions, Windows authentication and so on)

The site function properly and I've no problem. But I've noted that the module and skin templates are disappeared.

Anyone can help me?

Have I done some errors? I haven't found a guide which explaines how to move a DNN installation, could anyone tell me which is the best way to do it, or suggest me any guide?

I have moved a lot of sites following the same procedure you used and have never had just part of the install disappear.  Usually if something goes wrong nothing works.

Do you still have the files on the old computer?  If so try running a comparison between the two to make sure everything is the same ( I use Beyond compare for these jobs www.scootersoftware.com ).

If that doesn't reveal anything have a look in the logs to see if any errors are occurring in the new install and if so post those here.
