Hello there.
I am trying to install DNN 4.6.2 but get all kinds of errors, I installed 4.5.5 without any problems 2 times. i can install 4.6.2 with the auto mode, but nok custom or typical. But i am new at .net so i can make the settings in the .config so i cant use the auto.

Here my problem

1: I go to azcii.net/install/installwizard.aspx

2: I get error: Unauthorized Access Error
File D:\hshome\azcii\azcii.net\Portals\_default\\Logs\LogFailures.xml.resources
Error Access to the path 'D:\hshome\azcii\azcii.net\Portals\_default\Logs\LogFailures.xml.resources' is denied. The Windows User Account listed below must have Read/Write Privileges to this path.

3: Checked permissions, all fine so I try from the top again.

4: Select Installation Method: Custom, Language: English

5: Test Permissions: Your site passed the permissions check.

6: Same error as no. 2. reloaded the site

7: Filled in connection info and tested connection: Connection Success

8: Get the error: Installing Database - Version 4.4.0...FAILURE -, Lets take it from the top again.

9: DotNetNuke version 04.04.00 is already Installed, okay i clear the DB again.

10: Get error no. 2. after checking the DB login info, from top again.

11: Installing Database - Version 4.4.0...FAILURE -

12: go one page back and try again.

13: Installing Database - Version 4.4.0...Upgrading Database to Version (YES HER IT COMES)
ERROR: See D:\hshome\azcii\azcii.net\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\04.04.00.log for more information...FAILURE 400 - Conversion from string "ERROR: See D:hshomeazciiazcii" to type 'Integer' is not valid.

14: I give up can anyone help me.

obviously you did not grant sufficient permission to your virtual user "Network Service" or "ASPNET" for all subdirectories of your installation. I suggest to start from the scratch (re-unzip the files and clear the database) and make sure this time before entering the install wizard, to grant full permission for install directory and all subdirectories.

HTH

I did what you said, deleted DB and created it again, deleted all files on my site, downloaded DNN, unzipped the files and uploaded them again, checked the permissions manualy berfor trying to install (no problem there) and checked the permissions with the installwizard (no problem there).

I still get the same error, but version 4.5.5 will still install with out any problems.
