Hi. I have reproduced this 3 times in a row, so let me know if it is a stupid user error!  I added a folder beneath Portal Root called Images from within File Manager while logged in as host.  The folder added successfully, but will not show on the screen when logged in as host or admin.

When I click on + next to Portal Root, a javascript error pops up exclamation with no error, only '-' in the box.

Also, I noticed the status bar of IE constantly shows it's retrieving /images/spacer.gif in File Manager, but never seems to get it.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. Admin File Manager used to work properly, but now has the following problems (the Host File Manager does work properly):

  • Portal Root folder won't expand.
  • Child folders not visible.
  • Add Folder works properly, but new folders not visible.
  • Trying to add a folder with an existing name properly causes error "Directory Already Exists".
  • Paging through Portal Root works fine. All files are visible.
  • Synchronize Database and File System seems to have no effect.
  • Folders and files visible from File Location dialog in other modules.
  • Upload new file works properly from other modules.

Issue resolved by upgrading to DNN 3.2.2.

Never mind my last post. The process of upgrading was NOT what fixed this issue.

The problem appears to be with the Blowery.Web HTTP Compression module that I have installed. During the upgrade process yesterday, I turned it off (commented-out the appropriate sections) in the web.config file. When everything appeared to be working, I turned it back on and didn't check anything else...

This morning, the File Manager problem had returned. So I turned off HTTP compression again and voila! File Manager now works as it should.

I guess I'll be looking for a different compression module...

Does anyone have a suggestion if this is happening on version 4.7?  It's on the Godaddy free hosting, and compression is not turned on.

I already did turn off AJAX, as it was throwing strange sys.webforms.pagerequestmanagerparsererrorexception messages until I did turn it off.

The admin file manager "+" will not expand the folders and throws a javascript error.

TIA
