I need to transfer 3 different intranets (IT, PMO, & HR) from 3 different local machines on to one server. Each department designed their own intranet for testing purposes and they are happy with it. I now need to transfer all the 3 from local host to 1 live server. How do I do this? The Database names are the same "DotNetNuke" for each Department. I know how to transfer one, but how do I transfer 3 on to one server and 1 database????????

Please reply...

Are you trying to merge the databases, or are you trying to just setup three different databases on the same machine? If the latter you can backup each database and restore them on the production server, you'll just have to rename them as you restore them so they each have a unique database name. Then you'll have to configure each site to point to these new names.

If you are trying to take 3 DBs and merge them into one you're going to have quite a bit of work ahead of you. If that's the case let me know, my company might be able to help you out.

I'm trying to do some thing along these lines - I'm trying to make a test server for my DNN 3.2 website.

I have installed SQL server and DNN 3.2 on my test box.  The install set Machine Keys that are different then the Machine Keys on the production box.

When I do a restore of my production system onto my test server will the Machine Keys automatically be updated to match those of my productions system so that my webiste will function and Admin and host accounts will have the same passwords as production?

CBS, you'll have to copy the machinekeys from your production web.config file to your test web.config file in order to login.

Merging them sounds complicated, I’ll try the other option of renaming the Databases and configure each site to point to the relevant Database.

Thanks for your reply…
