I just installed dotnetnuke 4.4.1 (I'm supporting this version on a production server) on my local machine for development.  After installing, including IIS and SQL server, I'm trying to accesshttp://localhost/DotNetNuke/ and I get the error.

So I went online and found a site that suggested that I try

%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

So I did that and rebooted the machine, however I still have the same error. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Something that is interesting is that I have a website that I set up last week when I first attempted to install this and didn't have SQL on my development box.  When I access that site in IE, I get the message:

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

The stored procedure 'dbo.GetPortalAliasByPortalID' doesn't exist.

That, to me seems like it got past the other error on this website.  I am very frustrated, I have spent the last day on this issue and need to get past it.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled the dotnetnuke software.  Don't know what else to try.

Is there someone that consults on this?

the error is stated here:

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

Make sure, the connection string is correct and - if not using .mdf filename in the connection string - the database has been set up properly and permissions granted.
