This is my first DNN install (though I have been through the process several times so far).  My current problem is that several modules that i try to add give an error when trying to add a record.  This doesn't seem to be related to a single specific module - and it doesn't apply to all modules.

Example: the Events module - Select Add Event and i get "Error: Edit Event is currently unavailable."

Example: Help Modlue - basically the same thing.

However, the Announcements module works fine.

I have made the DB user a db_owner.  I have given the Network Service full rights to the folders.

Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Make sure, both database connection strings in your web.config file are identical.

The connection strings are identical.  I have checked and rechecked.  I have copied and pasted.

How do I enable a more descriptive error message to help with debugging?

To restate the problem, I can add a new Announcement, but not a new event or Help item.  I can add a new FAQ.  What connection string do Announcement and FAQ use and what do Event and Help use?

Thanks.
