I'm attempting an install in VStudio 2005 on WinXP using SQL2005 Dev. Edition all running locally.

The install goes along fine (with the minor exception of missing images) until the Database Scripts start running -- and never stop.

Looking at the database I see a couple tables concerning Database version and a SP regarding Version and that's all that ever happens.

I've tried a number of different versions of the install, custom, traditional, SQL Express, SQL etc -- all with the same result.

Any ideas?

Thank you for your help.

Max

Same problem here... don't know what's going on. Hope someone to fix this soon.

I don't know what the problem is ... but you might be successful trying this:

When the install hangs, kill it and then open up web.config and make sure that these lines are as follows:

       < add key="AutoUpgrade" value="false" / >
       < add key="UseInstallWizard" value="false" / >

Now browse to the site and see if the install continues.  Because you've set AutoUpgrade to "false" you may have to start the upgrade by browsing to  .../Install/Install.aspx.

I have a feeling that the combination of VS and the built-in web server somehow doesn't catch something to trigger the install.  Normally, you would just copy the files to an IIS virtual directory and browse to it.

Excellent!  Worked like a charm!  This should be posted on the download page unless it's a rare problem.  I seem to always have the rare problems ;)

Same problem here but I'm running IIS 5.0 on XP.  Will try that fix.
