Hi all,

I am currently getting my site hosted. Recently they have moved from the old server to the new server. However, after the moving is done... The default / home page is loading but whenever I click on any of the link, inclusive of the "LOGIN", it return the error The page cannot be found. Below are some of the additional description given.

Please advise on how to overcome this issue. Thanks in advance.

Technical Information (for support personnel)

  • Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search for the words HTTP and 404.
  • Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and search for topics titled Web Site Setup, Common Administrative Tasks, and About Custom Error Messages.

FYI, the hosting is using Windows Server 2003, running on IIS 6, with Ms SQL Server 2005. The OLD server and the NEW server have the same software config, difference only on the hardware.

I assume, there is a difference in IIS website configuration, please contact the host to validate this.

It looks for me that the start document is not setting up well.  The first start document must be default.aspx in the IIS settings.

Regards

Matthias

Hi Matthias,

The first start document is set correctly. Else, the homepage, default.aspx should not have loaded. It is also set in the IIS setting.
