Has anyone had any problems running the carousel on SQL Express. I am running a fresh install of DNN 4.7 and the carousel errors out when I try to access the settings page. I also installed Ultra Media Gallery 4 and it too errors out as well. I have this same mod installed on another site running DNN 4.6 and MS SQL Express with no problems.

I installed my sites on http://www.webhostforasp.net/ using the auto install, I don't know if this is where the issue lies or it is a DNN version conflict?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sean

Hi Sean,

Just a shot here, do you have both connection strings setup in your web.config?  One in the section ConnectionString, and the legacy one in AppSettings.  They may be using the legacy connection string while your site uses the new connection string.

Thanks,
Mike

I have never manipulated my web.config file before....still learning. this is the first time I ave ever had any problems with a fresh DNN install and a qua;ity mod. I don't know if I should start over first and then look at moving to MS SQL 2005? I am afraid I am not the greatest at troubleshoot DNN yet.

Hi Sean,

If you plan to tackle it yourselft here is what you have to check.

 <connectionStrings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express -->
    <add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
  </connectionStrings>
  <appSettings>
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"/>

The connectionString will be correct in your setup, make sure the other matches it.

Good luck!
Mike
