Hi All,

I have a question rgarding working with DNN source package and Vistual Studio 2005.
On my dev server I have installed DNN 4.8 source version and it's running fine through the browser. But when I would like to open the Dotnetnuke.sln file from my own pc I get an error.  Is it even possible to open the Dotnetnuke.sln file remotely?

The error goes something like this:
Unable to open the web "http://webdev.slz.nl/demo" Server error: There is no web named "/demo". If this website exists on the server, check to make sure the Frontpage Server Extensions are enabled, and that you have permission to access the server.

Frontpage Server Extensions are enabled and permissions are set...as in the guide.

Hope you could tell me what I'm missing....

Thanks in advance for your reply.

The problem is that in the soln file the web is referenced as "localhost/demo" I expect, so when you try and open the solution file remotely VS is trying to load the web from the local PC.

You can do what you want to do - but you would need to create your own local solution file and add the remote web project to it using the "Add existing Web" command from VS.

Hi Charles,

I did change the references in the .sln file, yet it did not work. But just tried your solution and it seemes to work. But need to check it some more, which I'll do tomorrow.

Btw, thanks, for the fast reply!

Greetings,

Jerry

Dear Charles,

It works, but I do have another question if you don't mind...

I made some changes in the code of the Dotnetnuke.services namespace, yet It doesn't compile. Just gives me a bunch of errors.

BTW working with Dotnetnuke source package v4.8. I used the project file which was already in the package for the Dotnetnuke Library.

If you could help me on my way, I would be very grateful! Am not so familiar with Visual studio 2005.

Greetings Jerry
