I am trying to upgrade from DNN 3.2.2 to 3.3.7 (this is the first step in my process of trying to get up to 4.8.0)

the upgrade comes up with an error and when I checke the corresponding log: 03.02.03.log  the log is empty.

 

when I click on continue I get the following error on my page:

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Check your web.config file to be sure that the node where the AspNetMembershipProvider is specified is present, and the case-sensitivity is correct.  Additionally, ensure that the specified assembly is indeed in the bin folder.  Compare your web.config to the release.config for a reference.  You might also consider using a tool such as WinMerge to compare the files and folders more easily.  This will show you what you should have or might be missing.
