Hi all forgive me if this isn't the correct location to post as i'm a newb to dnn. Just upgraded from 4.7 to 4.8 by doing a copy of the 4.8 upgrade files directly into my dnn root.  I copied all .configs and the upgrade went off without a hitch no errors however now when i go to login as host or admin i don't see the control panel to allow edits on the page...i no longer see the host and admin drop downs. This is a plain install no skins or anything...i've check the eventlogs in the database and it looks fine i've also made sure the users info for the host and admin users are still in the users table and all looks fine.

Anyone have any ideas...

thanks for any help ;-)

Sure - get your host to reset the application for you.

You can force it by altering your web.config through adding a "space" characeter anywhere in the file, saving it, and accessing the site. When the site sees a change in the web.config, it will reset the App Pool and you should see what you expect.

You didn't do anything wrong.
