Hello,

I've been recently testing DNN 4 for a website that I am building and originally installed it as it's own website running under IIS6. I've since realized that the domain name I was using was no longer registered and have since placed DNN 4 under a virtual directory on an existing domain and can access it such as "http://www.mydomain.com/dnn"

The problem occurs is that I configured the host and portal under the old domain, so my portal alias was www.myolddomain.com and my host url was htttp://www.myolddomain.com, the problem that occurs now is that after having updated the database entries in the HostSettings table and the Portal table to point my host to http://www.mynewdomain.com and the portal alias to www.mynewdomain.com/dnn it no longer appears to work, it always redirects to whatever url I enter into the portal alias.

What should the proper setting be for my host if my DNN installation lies at http://www.mydomain.com/dnn

and I have 1 portal at Portals/0

Help is appreciated,

Thanks

I resolved the issue but I have no idea why it works.....

I ran /install/install.aspx

/install/install.aspx?mode=AddPortal

then deleted all portal aliases

then added

www.mydomian.com/dnn as host url and then
www.mydomain.com/dnn as portal alias...

Same as I had it before the switch...
